Mama on Personal Experience

I remember the sixties. What a decade!  Four non-conforming adults got together on a Monday Monday and called themselves the Mamas and Papas. Little did they know that one of their flower child songs would become today’s handbook and possible salvation for independent retailers.

Words of love, so soft and tender,
Won’t win a girl’s heart anymore.
If you love her, then you must send her
Somewhere where she’s never been before.
Worn out phrases and longing gazes
Won’t get you where you want to go.
Words of love, soft and tender
Won’t win her…

Go Where You Wanna To Go is serious stuff to your customers and potential customers these days. So, Dream A Little Dream and imagine a world where you allow her to do just that in your store.

Above is the Mamas and Papas hit song Words Of Love. As you listen to it think about the personal experience you provide. It’s not about selling. It’s about supporting. It’s not about the talk. It’s all about the walk. It’s not about what you say. It’s all about what you do.

As Cass Elliot bellows about your traditional advertising not working as well today, start thinking experience, experience, experience, and experience.

WASN’T MAMA GREAT? A little California Dreamin might do us all some good.
